CYBEX Cloud G Pro
Quick verdict
- Verdict
- Caution
- Evidence
- Limited
A CYBEX seat with rigid LATCH, a load leg and an anti-rebound bar; the independent tests we found are of a related model, the Cloud G Lux.
- Consumer Reports and BabyGearLab tested the related Cloud G Lux, not the Cloud G Pro; those results do not transfer.
- Caution
- No independent crash test of the Cloud G Pro was located; results for the Cloud G Lux don't transfer.
- 12-lb carrier (CYBEX), heavier than most seats here.
- Good
- Rigid LATCH, load leg and anti-rebound bar (CYBEX).
- CYBEX states it passes federal requirements "without the use of added fire retardant chemicals" (manufacturer claim).
What we could not verify
- No independent crash or installation test.
- No chemical test located.
Why we reached this verdict
Consumer Reports and BabyGearLab have both tested the Cloud G Lux, a related CYBEX seat, but neither has published a test of the Cloud G Pro, and we don't transfer results between models. It is an estimated Caution until one does.
On paper it has rigid LATCH, a load leg and an anti-rebound bar, but a feature list is not a crash test. CYBEX states it meets the new federal side-impact and frontal standards and uses no added fire-retardant chemicals; it doesn't address PFAS.

What the evidence shows
Cybex Cloud G Lux Car Seat Review
Consumer Reports rated the related Cybex Cloud G Lux (not the Cloud G Pro) 82 overall, CR Recommended, ranked 8 of 46 infant seats, with crash protection 'Better', ease of use 4/5, LATCH fit 5/5 and belt fit 5/5. It noted the rigid LATCH and load leg improve crash performance and that the load leg can be non-intuitive to use; no recall was shown. Federal compliance and recalls
Every seat sold in the US must meet FMVSS 213. The side-impact requirement, FMVSS 213a, applies from December 5, 2026. The manufacturer states: “Complies with new FMVSS213 side impact and frontal impact standard safety standards”. Manufacturer statement; we did not verify certification.
No recall of this seat was located in NHTSA's recall data (searched September 23, 2026).
Materials and chemical claims
- “FR Free: passes the federal safety requirements without the use of added fire retardant chemicals” (CYBEX, manufacturer statement)
Certifications claimed: GREENGUARD Gold (manufacturer-stated). GREENGUARD Gold limits chemical emissions (VOCs) into indoor air. It does not test for flame retardants or PFAS, and it says nothing about crash performance. We could not confirm this claim in UL's certification database, which blocks automated checks.
Flame-retardant claim only; PFAS is not addressed.
