What diapers are safe? Here’s Our Verdict

Millie Moon Premium Diapers

Quick verdict

Non-detect for organic fluorine (a PFAS marker) and fragrance-free on chemistry alone — but an ongoing pattern of severe reaction reports and CPSC complaints puts it in avoid.

Check the package version: the research does not yet confirm an exact match to every current product. See version details.

Historical TCF claims and current ECF characterization need versioned reconciliation. See the full research below.

Good / Caution / Avoid

Avoid
  • Over 368 CPSC complaints filed as of mid-2026, alleging an ongoing pattern of severe rash and "chemical burn" reactions since late 2025; reports do not establish causation and no recall has been issued.
Caution
  • Current evidence describes ECF pulp; older TCF claims may concern a different version.
Good
  • Current package materials and OEKO-TEX certificate number identified.
  • Size 3 organic-fluorine screen reported non-detect.

Verdict: Avoid. Current package matching remains unresolved; read the newer evidence below.

Tested non-detect for organic fluorine (a PFAS marker) and is fragrance-free — on chemistry alone this would be a verified pick. We avoid it anyway: since late 2025 there has been an ongoing pattern of severe rash and "chemical burn" reports covered by regional news outlets, with over 368 complaints filed with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission as of mid-2026 and at least one law firm actively investigating a potential class action. A separate, already-filed Massachusetts class action alleges Target continued marketing these diapers as "Totally Chlorine Free" after the pulp process switched to elemental chlorine-free (ECF) in 2023. No recall has been issued as of this writing, and the cause of the reported reactions hasn't been confirmed — but a live, unresolved pattern of this kind is disqualifying under our standard regardless of what the PFAS test shows. Revisit if the CPSC or manufacturer issues a resolution.

What you should know

  • Current evidence characterizes pulp as ECF; older TCF claims should not be carried forward without formulation proof.

What's still uncertain

  • Need exact current package wording and historical-generation reconciliation.

Final verdict against our diapers standard

This is the published editorial verdict. Read the formulation caveats and working research above; the imported evidence has not automatically re-scored this product.
