Coterie vs HealthyBaby diapers

The short version

Both diapers carry a Clean verdict under our diaper standard at the same relative price tier, and that shared verdict is not a practical-performance ranking. The category guide separately identifies picks under that published standard; this comparison examines their different evidence rather than scoring absorbency or leakage. Coterie has organic-fluorine and targeted PFAS testing on record. HealthyBaby has the more detailed ingredient disclosure, a third certification in our published review, and organic-fluorine results from both 2023 and 2026.

Side by side

Certification records below preserve their recorded status and scope. Open each product's evidence for the source context and dates. A certificate does not establish overall safety or absence of all contaminants.

What we could not verifyExact lot/batch and full analyte-by-analyte limits for the reported PFAS testing remain to be captured. Full current size/SKU-specific formulation extraction is not yet complete.Current acquisition-layer material is unresolved: 2021 manufacturer disclosure says polypropylene; 2023 EWG record says polyester. Exact current FSC certificate chain has not yet been independently verified. OEKO-TEX MADE IN GREEN label number is manufacturer/retailer corroborated but direct OEKO-TEX label-check verification remains pending. Exact lot/batch and SKU details for the published organic-fluorine sample were not disclosed in the readable source. The most detailed manufacturer materials disclosure located is dated 2021. EWG's later 2023 Size 3 record conflicts with the 2021 acquisition-layer material. Current product marketing indicates subsequent construction/design upgrades. Multiple package generations are in circulation because weight guidance changed while older printed packaging remained on sale.

Where they differ

Testing on record
Coterie tested non-detect for organic fluorine, a PFAS marker, in initial independent testing, and non-detect across 40 targeted PFAS compounds in a 2024 follow-up. HealthyBaby tested non-detect for organic fluorine in 2023 and again in 2026. Our entry for HealthyBaby lists no targeted PFAS test. An organic-fluorine screen is not the same measurement as a targeted PFAS test.
Certifications listed
Both list EWG Verified and OEKO-TEX Standard 100. HealthyBaby also lists the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. Each certification covers a defined scope and does not show that a product is free of everything else.
Materials disclosed
Both use a totally chlorine-free wood-pulp core. Coterie is roughly 25% plant-based and its materials list discloses pigments and inks for printed markings. HealthyBaby is roughly 35% plant-based with a 15% organic-cotton outer cover, and publishes a full layer-by-layer ingredient list.
Legal history
A PFAS class action against Coterie was dismissed in October 2024 because it did not plausibly allege that the product purchased contained PFAS. That was a pleading ruling, not a finding on the merits. We recorded no legal history for HealthyBaby.
Ownership and availability
Coterie was acquired by Mammoth Brands in October 2025, and our entry notes it is worth rechecking if the formulation changes. HealthyBaby is sold by subscription only.

How to read this comparison

The table above comes from the same research record that powers each product page. A row appears only when we have a real value for both diapers, so a missing row means we have nothing to compare, not that the answer is no. It does not add the rows up or pick a winner, because the evidence for the two products is not the same kind of evidence.

Findings describe the specific products and dates we examined. Manufacturers change formulations without notice, so check the package in your hands against the details on each verdict page before you rely on a result.
