Verdict: Caution.

A short, clean 7-ingredient list with no phenoxyethanol, using food-grade sodium benzoate as the preservative, and non-detect for PFAS in Consumer Reports' June 2026 independent testing. The one claim we can't confirm: EWG lists several Honest wipe products as EWG Verified, but the specific fragrance-free "Sensitive" formulation doesn't carry that badge on EWG's own listing as of this review, and a confusingly similar product name even carries an EWG "high hazard" flag — worth Honest clarifying, and worth checking EWG's listing yourself before assuming Verified status extends to this exact product. Honest's 2017 wipes recall (mold contamination) was characterized by the company as precautionary with no confirmed adverse health effects reported, and there's been no recurrence since.

What the evidence tells us

The review links Consumer Reports’ June 2026 testing. Its panel examined 30 named PFAS compounds; a non-detect result applies to that panel and its tested samples, not to every PFAS or every future batch.

What's still uncertain

  • Match the reviewed formula to your package; a test does not cover every batch.
  • EWG Verified status is not confirmed for this exact Sensitive formula.
  • Certification scopes differ. None is a guarantee that a product will suit every child.
